The Headteacher and Governing Body are wishing to appoint an outstanding teacher of English and Literacy Coordinator to lead literacy developments across the college. This post provides an exciting opportunity to influence the delivery of literacy and drive improvements across both the English department and whole school and is particularly suitable for those who are looking to step into a leadership role.
The ideal candidate will:
● Have the ability to teach English across all ages (KS3-5) and ability ranges.
● Have excellent subject knowledge, passion and be able to deliver an inspiring curriculum.
● Have excellent classroom management and organisation.
● Have the ability to work as part of a very successful, supportive and friendly team.
● Be able to work with staff to ensure that disciplinary literacy is embedded across the curriculum, driving strategies and delivering training which will develop the literacy skills of all students across the college.
● Create a reading culture which fosters and promotes a love of reading.
● Organise and deliver appropriate literacy interventions, informed by assessment tools and data, to close the literacy gap and provide support for those requiring additional guidance.
● Be innovative, forward thinking and able to take risks.
