Due to the school’s continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for intervention teaching assistants to join our successful SEND team, to develop and raise the attainment of our students. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience of supporting young people with additional needs in the following areas:
Maths and Science
Sensory Needs
Speech, Language and Communication Needs
We are also interested in candidates who can offer support to our existing interventions such as Art therapy, Lego therapy and Zones of Regulation which support SEMH and communication and intervention needs alongside candidates with experience in supporting Autism, anxiety management and students’ self-regulation skills.
Working under the direction and supervision of our SENDCo, you will assist with teaching and leading small groups and one to one bespoke interventions in order to help students progress. As a teaching assistant you will also assist, when required, with the planning, delivery and evaluation of learning activities, supporting whole classes and working with individuals and small groups of students.
The successful candidate will ideally hold a relevant NVQ level 3 (or equivalent qualification), or have recent proven experience of working effectively with young people at this level in a similar role in an education setting. Teamwork is key and it is essential that you have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and work with a range of school professionals.
